GeKu Automatisierungssysteme was founded by Thorsten Gerling and Uwe Kruse in 1995. This step was the logical outcome of the expertise acquired over many years in the field of industrial handling technology. Uwe Kruse left the company in 2018. The majority shareholder at this time was HAHN Group GmbH, Rheinböllen. Thorsten Gerling has headed GeKu as sole shareholder and managing director since then.
With a current headcount of 84, GeKu implements custom automation solutions for plastic, rubber, and metal processing companies.
Over 3,500 automation solutions, system robots and peripheral solutions testify to GeKu's performance and quality. GeKu has positioned itself internationally as a supplier of complete and partial customized automation solutions. This was made possible not least by the global orientation of many of GeKu’s customers.
As a steadily growing company with a pool of skilled employees who have been involved in handling technology for over 25 years, GeKu applies the necessary technical expertise to every new project for the benefit of its customers.
In North America, HAHN Plastics Automation represents GeKu together with its sister companies WEMO and Waldorf Technik. Together they form a global network and pool their extensive know-how in the plastics industry. The three companies perfectly complement each other, enabling the development of innovative ideas, the use of the latest technologies and comprehensive service. All three companies specialize in their specific areas in the automation of plastic injection molding processes.
